Dean’s Produce has two locations - Millbrae and San Mateo! We are open EVERYDAY from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

What is the Plastic Bag Ban?

Effective January 1, 2026, California’s statewide plastic bag ban, enacted via SB 1053, prohibits ALL plastic carryout bags at the checkout counter for grocery stores regardless of thickness. All conventional plastic film bags are banned. Stores may only offer recycled paper bags or compostable bags.
The CITY OF SAN MATEO ORDINANCE NO. 2013-7 further supports the plastic bag ban.
At checkout, you can now either bring your own reusable bags or purchase a recycled paper bag.
Should I bring my reusable bag?

Sorry NO PETS ALLOWED, ONLY SERVICE ANIMALS ARE PERMITTED!
California law strictly prohibits pets in grocery stores and any other food facility. Under California Health and Safety Code § 114259.5, only certified, task-trained service animals are allowed inside. Emotional support animals (ESAs) and general pets are NOT permitted.
